terror against Jews and Poles escalated after Lodz was annexed to
the Reich on November 9. Several thousand Jews and Poles were
arrested and taken to the Radogoszcz prison on the outskirts of
town; shortly afterwards, some were murdered and the rest were
removed to concentration camps in Germany.
