A tribute ceremony honoring the Gandel family, as the Gandel
Holocaust Studies Program for Australian Educators was launched. Phillip Green of Sydney, Australia toured Yad Vashem’s new Holocaust History Museum in March. The Israel Australia Chamber of Commerce came to Yad Vashem for a moving visit on Holocaust Remembrance day. With a delegation of close to 50 persons they toured the Holocaust History Museum, were briefed by Yad Vashem Chairman Avner Shalev and participated in the official Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony. Pictured here is Lee Liberman at a wreath laying ceremony for the IACC in Yad Vashem’s Hall of Remembrance. Carol and Alan Schwartz of Melbourne paid their respects at The Path of Remembrance and Reflection, endowed by the Schwartz family in memory of the Jews of Hungary who perished in the Shoah. In December Ruth and Sam Alter of Melbourne came to visit Yad Vashem with their extended family. The family is pictured here at the Partisans’ Panorama. From Melbourne, Australia, this group came for an extended tour of Yad Vashem in April 2007.
