Albert Speer, found guilty – Nuremberg, Germany, 1945/6

 

Albert Speer, an architect by profession, was Minister of Armaments and Armaments Manufacture of the Third Reich. He utilized forced laborers and confiscated Jewish property to achieve those goals. He is regarded as a close friend of Hitler. During his trial, Speer expressed remorse for his deeds and denounced the Nazi regime. However, the majority of his criticism was against corruption in the regime, with hardly any reference to the war crimes committed by the Germans. Sentenced to 20 years imprisonment
